Every visitor to this camp impacts the way the community thinks about their wildlife and their environment. This place of wild beauty is an ecology worth holding onto, not to mention the Lozi culture with their long term history on the Zambezi River. 3,5 and 7-night stay offers riders endless canters on the Zambezi floodplains, ending off with a few nights in the beautiful rustic luxury of Chundukwa River Lodge close to the magnificent Victoria Falls. Non-riding partners and those yearning for an authentic wilderness getaway are also welcome.
Doug’s dream of leading horse-lovers on multi-day rides in a remote wilderness has come true in the Simalaha Wildlife Conservancy and it is due to this passion that our horse safaris have become well known for offering exceptionally high standards of guiding.
For our riding safari, you need to be fit, confident & competent.
Intermediate to Experienced Riders - We offer a 3 night safari or longer for intermediate riders and above.
Novice to Intermediate Riders - We will accommodate riders of all abilities if a group books out the camp on an exclusive-use basis.
We operate in the Dry Season from July through to January - which are also prime wildlife viewing months.
Riders stay with us on a Full Board Basis which excludes your return transfer fees and Park Fees payable per person per night.
There are no large predators in the conservancy and so Simalaha Horse Safaris is considered a safe riding & wilderness combination.
Non-Riders are welcome too!
