LUMBE POOLS - BAROTSELAND


Lumbe Pools offers a truly unique Zambezi River experience in the heart of Barotseland. Camp is situated on the banks of of two beautiful rivers  the pristine Lumbe and the mighty Zambezi.


Lumbe Pools is open from1 March - 31 January  * some of the activities will be seasonal 


5 King or Twin en-suite chalets with views of the Zambezi River.

Our chalets have been uniquely designed – from sandbag walls to canvas chalets, with roll down blinds and soft curtains. Chalets are cooled by the Zambezi breezes. Hot water bottles and thick blankets are provided for the cold nights in June and July whilst the airy nature of the rooms keeps things cool in the warmer months. We provide bedside lamps and charging points through our solar system and donkey boilers provide your chalets with hot water.


LUMBE POOLS ACTIVITIES


Snorkeling - Strictly in the Lumbe, snorkel in the crystal clear pools to see our labeos, barbs, minnows and small bream that live in amongst the rocks.

Beach Games - We have access to a lot of squeaky white beaches for tanning, beach boules, beach golf and frizbee.

Fishing - As well as tiger fishing, we offer ‘doba doba’ angling for youngsters and the chance to nymph the rapids of the Lumbe and Zambezi for yellowfish and labeo.

Sioma Falls - No visit to Lumbe Pools would be complete without a trip to the Sioma Falls – the second largest waterfall on the Zambezi – to swim in the natural jacuzzis and have G & T’s on the rocks next to the Falls.

Walking, Running or Birding - Enjoy the various trails around Lumbe for running or walking (note sand is soft) or birding for riverine and miombo species.

Tiger and Fly Fishing - camp is located south of the floodplains and the bulk of our water is rock based.



INCLUDES - Accommodation, meals, teas, coffee, non-bottled water and laundry. Child minding up to 4 hrs per day, guided boat fishing (20l fuel per day) / single day drift boat fishing, basic conventional fishing equipment, day trips to the Sioma Falls, snorkelling, beach breakfasts, walking trails, sunset cruises, fishing or boat cruise and all beach activities.
