McBrides’Camp consists of Main Camp and Bush Camp
McBrides’ Camp is located in one of the few remaining true wilderness areas of Kafue National Park, where there are no roads and minimal human presence. Escape to serenity on the tranquil banks of the Kafue River, where we have crafted a captivating retreat nestled in nature's embrace. This exceptional natural environment, home to a diverse range of wildlife including mammals, birds, fish and reptiles, is what makes this camp unique. McBrides' Camp area becomes a haven for wildlife, especially during the drier seasons. This is due to the 3 cold springs in the area, which act as a natural magnet for animals. What makes this area very special is the natural hot/warm spring where you can swim an enjoy a relaxing dip.
MAIN CAMP - CHALETS
The camp offers seven private thatched chalets, each accommodating two people with en-suite bathrooms. The open-air dining room provides stunning views of the Kafue River and can accommodate up to fourteen guests.
The camp also has a reference library and light reading material available for guests. Solar power is available in the office to charge batteries, and WIFI access is available upon request.

BUSH CAMP
Embark on an authentic bush adventure at our remarkable Bush Camp, where nature enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the untamed beauty of the wilderness. Situated just 14 km away from the main camp, this idyllic basic retreat serves as the perfect launching pad for exhilarating daily game walks. Indulge in the thrill of encountering wildlife up close while exploring the captivating terrain.

GAME DRIVES - Our game drives unfold in the picturesque surroundings of McBrides' Camp and along the meandering Mushingashi stream. Our well-established road network allows us to explore a wide range of landscapes and diverse vegetation in our area. Don't miss out on the quintessential experience of sundowners and coffee breaks during your drive. And, if luck is on your side, you might just find yourself indulging in a surprise bush breakfast at the end of your journey.
BOAT CRUISES - Step aboard our famous double-decker boat for a serene cruise that's a haven for bird enthusiasts and botany lovers. As the dry season progresses, the river transforms into a bustling wildlife corridor, offering thrilling sightings of game along its verdant banks. Keep your camera ready for impressive cat sightings and even the occasional elephant crossing.
FISHING - The Kafue River boasts exceptional fishing opportunities, featuring a rich variety of bream species, pike, and yellowfish. This stretch of river is renowned as one of the finest angling spots. Whether you're a seasoned angler or a novice, you're bound to have a blast amidst the rapids, rocky terrain, and submerged timber. Use lures, spinners, or bait to try your hand at catching the diverse fish species that call this river home.
BUSH WALKS - Our walking safaris primarily occur around the serene Mushingashi stream. These educational adventures offer a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the heart of the bush. Our comfortable walking safaris provide an enriching stroll through the wilderness, complete with a relaxing tea break along the way. You can choose to return to the lodge for a brunch feast or enjoy a delightful surprise meal amid the enchanting bush.
SWIM IN HOT/WARM SPRINGS - Escape to our natural hot springs for an off-the-beaten-path experience, reconnecting with nature and basking in the therapeutic qualities of geothermal waters. It's a remarkable addition to the diverse range of attractions our park has to offer. Picture starting your day with a rejuvenating dip in our natural hot spring, enveloped in serenity and tranquility. After emerging refreshed, savor a steaming cup of coffee as you find the perfect vantage point to witness a breathtaking sunrise.
The hot springs are natural geothermal feature that offer a unique and rejuvenating experience for visitors.
These hot springs are formed when groundwater is heated by geothermal energy from beneath the Earth's surface. As a result, the water emerges at a higher temperature, creating soothing thermal pools amidst the wilderness of the park.
